Learning Disability Week

Friendships are important to us all. A friend is someone you can laugh with, someone to talk to, someone that makes you feel wanted and most importantly someone that stops us from feeling lonely.

However, due to lockdown many of us may have felt a sense of loneliness due to the restrictions in place. So, this year’s Learning Disability Week focuses on the importance of friendships during lockdown.

Many individuals with a learning disability may feel isolated within society, which these feelings of isolation have only been heightened during lockdown.

Here at Amore Group we promote social inclusion and challenge situations which marginalise the people we support. We match support workers to service users, not only based on their skills, though also on their personal interests. It is important that both parties are comfortable with each other and can form a friendship. It’s these friendships that give our service users the confidence to achieve and to feel valued within their community.

Are you ready to form meaningful friendships which give our service users the confidence to achieve? Get in touch with us today on 0333 200 5132 or email enquires@amore-group.co.uk. We cannot wait to hear from you!
