The Steve Prescott Foundation
Over the Christmas period, we were really touched by the gesture of one of our Complex Care clients, L.
We approached L’s family to ask for Christmas gift ideas which without a moment’s notice they asked that instead a donation was made in L’s name to the Steve Prescott Foundation as a token of their gratitude for the continued support and the incredible difference that the foundation has made to L’s life since his accident.
The Steve Prescott Foundation, through the RFL Benevolent fund, have been supporting L for over 20 years since an accident which occurred whilst playing rugby 22 years ago which had life-changing consequences.
The foundation has provided exceptional support to L, including providing financial support which assisted L in regaining his independence by moving into a specially adapted bungalow in 2016. This gave L a newfound freedom, enabling him to see friends again in the comfort of his own home, and privacy with the bungalow allowing for carers to have their own room within the bungalow and a specialist intercom system.
Following the wishes of L and his family, we have made a £50 donation to the foundation for their amazing support in allowing L to maintain his independence and for giving him the opportunity to live a life which is both fulfilling and meaningful.
