Celebrating our Support Workers – meet Christopher Heron!

At the Amore Group, our front-line support workers are at the heart of everything we do. Their dedication, compassion, and expertise help our clients live fulfilling and enriched lives. Today, we’re excited to shine a spotlight on one of our valued team members, Christopher Heron, who has been an integral part of our Amore Complex Care division for five years.

Person-centred activities in the local community

Christopher, or Chris as he’s known to the team, has spent half a decade supporting his client, helping him reach his potential and experience the world around him in meaningful ways. Working alongside Michael Higginson, Chris ensures that his client can engage in activities that enrich his life and build his confidence to explore the local community.

From regular visits to Walton Hall for scenic walks and farm trips to peaceful afternoons watching trains at the local station, Chris goes above and beyond to ensure his client has experiences that bring him joy. Whether they’re exploring beautiful gardens with a packed lunch in hand or simply enjoying the atmosphere of a bustling railway station, Chris’s support helps his client feel comfortable, engaged, and excited about his surroundings.

Encouraging growth, exploring indoor and outdoor spaces

One of the most rewarding aspects of Chris’s role has been witnessing his client grow in confidence and independence.

“It’s good to see him coming into his own – from walking around the office during events to making and writing Christmas cards for his family.”

Christopher Heron, reflecting on his client’s journey.

These small but significant milestones are a testament to the power of dedicated, person-centred care. By fostering a safe and supportive environment, Chris has helped his client develop new skills, explore new spaces, and gain confidence in both indoor and outdoor settings.

A glimpse into Christopher Heron’s life

Beyond his role at Amore, Chris gets up to a lot outside of work. Here are a few fun facts about him:

  • Favourite breakfast? A full English – nothing beats it!
  • Biggest achievement? While he’s incredibly proud of his children and grandchildren, he’s also pleased with his dedication to making it to golf every week.
  • Favourite celebrity? Anyone from Liverpool Football Club, but musically, Steely Dan tops his list.

Thank you, Chris!

Chris’s dedication to his client and his passion for making a difference exemplify the values we uphold at the Amore Group. His work is a shining example of what compassionate, person-centred care looks like, and we are incredibly grateful for everything he does.

We hope you’ve enjoyed this behind-the-scenes look at Chris’s role and the positive impact he has on the lives of those he supports. Stay tuned for next week, when we introduce you to another exceptional team member, Michael Higginson!
