Management Meeting

It was great to have the management team back together again this week for our quarterly management meeting (albeit social distanced!)

The team got together to provide an update from all business areas and to discuss the business strategy for the year ahead.

This week saw Group Financial Controller, Malcolm Vaughan, provide an overview of how the branches have been performing.

Our Quality and Compliance Manager, Sue Bromilow, presented the results from our client and contractor satisfaction surveys, which it was great to see a huge improvement in all areas measured.

Jo Aiken, Regional Complex Care Manager, provided an insight into the tendering process for our Complex Care packages and Becky Jones, our Marketing and Digital Media Executive, provided a marketing update.

Some great results across all business areas and exciting plans in the pipeline as we enter the last quarter of the year!

Sharing Our Vision

As demand grows, we are too!

Here at the Amore Group, we not only offer a comprehensive training package for our contractors, though for our internal staff too. Starting with a full-day induction from the Company Director, Gareth Potsig!

Earlier this week Gareth shared his vision for the company with our new recruits, as well as discussing the exciting plans ahead for the Amore Group and the opportunities for career progression.

Gareth has a career within recruitment that has spanned over 20 years, primarily within the health and social care sector. During the induction Gareth openly shared his experience of what he has learnt – including never to call the client ‘Buddy’!

We have several new faces that we are delighted have joined the Amore Group over the past few weeks, which we will be formally introducing very soon…

Congratulations Krystian Hudson!

Krystian has worked within the care industry for over 5 years, having been with the Amore Group for just over 12 months.

We are delighted to announce that Krystian has been successful in achieving a Team Leader Position with one of our Amore Complex Care clients.

Krystian started with the Amore Group having worked at the client’s incumbent provider. The support package was transferred across to the Amore Group, which given the close relationship that Krystian had built with the client and the progress that had been made, he was keen to continue working with them.

In Krystian’s new role he will be supporting with introducing new staff members to the client and completing shadow shifts to ensure all staff are successfully integrated. In turn, building a resilient staffing team with the client’s best interests at heart.

Krystian will be managing this around organising music festivals and the running of his own record label, Society Of Losers, which he enjoys doing in his spare time. He also has his own band, Salt the Snail – be sure to give them a listen!

We wish Krystian all the best in his new role, which we know he will be a huge success.

Supporting the Local Community

Our Director, Ian McDougall, has been continuing to distribute food parcels donated by Community Shop on behalf of Everton in the Community, the official charity of Everton Football Club, however this time for the Rotunda Summer Fun Hub holiday camp!

Everton in the Community is considered one of the top sporting charities in the UK, with the charity covering a wide range of social issues across Merseyside through its award-winning programmes.

Everton in the Community’s dedicated neighbourhood team, @efc_bluemile is a community partner of Rotunda, and support the 10,000+ residents living in the ‘Blue Mile’ the one mile radius of Goodison Park and beyond. The team work within the community to help those in need, providing opportunities and a point of contact, whilst supporting the work of Everton in the Community.

Rotunda offer a wide range of community events, activities and workshops. In addition to providing other means of support, including legal advice and counselling.

Funded by Riverside Group, a leading registered provider of social housing in the Liverpool City Region, Rotunda have teamed up with Everton in the Community to organise a summer holiday camp for Riverside Housing tenants and those in the wider community.

Now in their third week, the summer camp has been a roaring success, being attended by up to 30 families each week. Ian has been supporting in delivering food parcels to the summer camp to provide a free lunch to all those that attend. Whether it is chatting over lunch, baking or enjoying the Jo Malone London health and well-being garden together, the camp is certainly helping in bringing families together.

Sarah Atherton, Neighbourhood Manager at Everton in the Community, comments “Ian has been amazing and such a huge support in allowing us to help save lives during this unprecedented time.”

Well done to Ian and all those involved in helping support the #BlueMile community! 👏👏

Congratulations Ella on your 5 year work anniversary!

Congratulations to Ella McGrath for completing 5 years at the Amore Group!

Ella started with the Amore Group back in August 2015 as an apprentice, completing her NVQ Level 2 and 3 with us. Fast forward 5 years, and Ella now supports our Liverpool @AmoreSocialCare branch in the position of Placement Officer.

Paula Murphy, our Liverpool branch manager, comments:

“Ella is an absolute asset to the team here at the Liverpool branch. Her enthusiasm and dedication to the company is as refreshing today as it was in 2015 when Ella first started working with the company. She has established excellent working relations with contractors and clients alike, which the feedback we receive is always positive.”

Thank you Ella for your continued hard work at the Amore Group!

Our New Branch Nurse…. Maggie!

You may soon be seeing a new name and face around, as it is with great pleasure that we introduce Amore Complex Care’s new branch nurse, Maggie!

Maggie is a qualified nurse with over the 30 years’ experience in health and social care including heading up Professional Development Teams within the NHS where she has presented and provided development in a range of areas within Critical and Complex Care Services.

Maggie has worked in several nursing positions across hospital and community settings, including in critical care and occupational health. In addition to supporting patients and services Maggie is also a qualified Lecturer and training instructor and has a range of professional and further education qualifications including being a qualified Advanced Life Support instructor.

Maggie is just as committed as she was 30 years ago to ensuring that clients / patients receive the best possible care experience possible and enjoys engaging with and supporting the clients and families directly, whilst utilising her knowledge, skills and experience to support the care teams in building further skills and confidence in their delivery of care.

Having only been with us for 3 weeks, Maggie has already been working with our support teams to enhance their skills and knowledge, including holding a diabetes awareness session next week and a number of other sessions over the next month including caring for clients with acquired brain injuries, those with epilepsy and those who require a tracheostomy.

When Maggie has the time, she winds down listening to music and spending time with her family……she does like a bit of fun!

Maggie has always ensured that the client / patient is at the heart of everything she does and is passionate in supporting anyone to reach their potential in meeting the client’s needs.

We are sure that Maggie’s own motivation and passion will be inspiring to others and are confident that she will prove a valuable asset to the Amore Complex Care team!
