Celebrating our Support Workers – meet Michael Higginson!

Today, we’re shining a spotlight on Michael Higginson, a valued member of our Amore Complex Care division who has built strong, trusting relationships with his client and colleagues.

Finding creative ways to engage our Complex Care client

Mike believes that care should always be given at the level you’d want for your own family and friends. With this philosophy, he has built a brilliant bond with his client and his teammate Christopher Heron, ensuring that every day is filled with engaging and enriching experiences.

Whether it’s cycling together, heading to the airport station to watch planes take off, or taking part in swimming sessions, Mike helps his client develop confidence and experience the world around him in a meaningful way. Even during the winter months, they found creative ways to have fun-spending cosy afternoons watching classic films like Toy Story, Harry Potter, and Star Wars.

Building trust and a supportive environment

One of the most rewarding parts of Mike’s role has been building a sense of mutual trust with both his client and his colleagues.

“I’m so thankful to have Chris there to talk to and draw from his experience. Between me, Chris, and the client we support, we all have that mutual trust. The office team is always supportive too—we went to all the Christmas events, and it was clear just how much the staff really do care.”
