Dyslexia Awareness Week 2024

This Friday, we’re proud to celebrate Dyslexia Awareness Week, highlighting the importance of supporting neurodiversity in the workplace.

We want to introduce you to Krystina Littlehales, our inspiring Training & Compliance Manager, who has navigated dyslexia throughout her life. Hear Krystina speak about her journey:

“I was diagnosed with dyslexia in my last year of primary school, but there wasn’t much help available back then. I struggled through high school. Spellings were tough – I’d get all the right letters, just in the wrong order. And my work would come back from school covered in red pen.

Despite these challenges, I was determined not to let dyslexia hold me back. I completed high school, went on to college, and earned my B-Tec. There’s so much more support available now..”

At Amore Group, we embrace neurodiversity, ensuring our training programs and work environments are accessible for all as a Disability Confident Committed Employer. Here’s how we make accommodations for our amazing team members with dyslexia and other learning needs:

  • One-to-one support with tailored guidance, whether it’s explaining concepts in different ways or using technology for assistance.
  • Extra training sessions to ensure understanding
  • Customised materials, including using coloured paper or overlays
  • Learning style adaptability to suit your unique needs. Take the quiz Krystina recommends at learningstylequiz.com and share your learning styles with us so we can better support you!

Krystina continues to use her experiences to help others: “I take everything I’ve learned over the years and use it to support others with dyslexia, ensuring they never feel left behind.”
