Joanne Aiken shares her Care Career Story
There is an increasing requirement in the health and social care sector to recruit, train and retain the right people to meet the staggering demand for social care support.
January marks #goodcaremonth which is aimed at trying to reduce the demand on the health and social care sector by inspiring others to consider a career in care through sharing your care career story!
Today we share our Regional Complex Care Manager’s story, Joanne Aiken.
Jo started with the Amore Group as a Placement Officer, which she supported in identifying the right candidates to fulfil a range of health and social care sector positions for a variety of care sector clients. She then supported with the recruitment side of the business, and in successfully tendering for Amore’s first ever Complex Care package, J, which Jo later became the house manager for.
The Amore Complex Care division started from here with regulated services and Jo went on to become the Complex Care manager, and soon after the Registered Manager after completing her Level 5 Diploma. In her role as Registered Manager this saw the company achieve GOOD in its first CQC inspection in 2016. When Jo handed over this post at the end of 2019 and started her current role, Complex Care were providing in excess of 30 packages of varying support plans a week which has continued to increase.
In Jo’s current role she supports with the business development side of the business and within her first 12 months has been successful in tendering for several local authority frameworks.
Jo started out as a support worker, and this year marks her 30th year in the health and social care sector.
