Laura joined the Amore Group last March working within our Chester branch. Having previously worked within hair and beauty, this was a complete career change for Laura however she explains below why she has never looked back…

“Since starting with Amore I am so pleased to have changed my career path. Having previously worked within hair and beauty, working within care was completely different. With the support of the team, and the thorough training that Amore provided I felt confident when starting my first few placements within teams of experienced individuals.

“I mainly work supporting one of our Chester clients who are an established specialist autism charity. Starting the day supporting the service user with getting ready and choosing what to wear. I love that I still get to put my hair and beauty skills to use, the service users love having their hair braided and their nails painted – and even more so painting mine!

“I really enjoy supporting the individuals with accessing the community, whether it’s a walk in the Wirral countryside, grabbing an ice cream or going to the shops to buy baking ingredients to bake a cake when we get back… I really enjoy it all.

“I am a single mum of three young girls, though the Chester branch work brilliantly to find shifts that work around my family commitments and availability. I have recommended working with Amore to several of my friends who have recently come through the recruitment process and are absolutely delighted they have joined the team too!

“I have been so fulfilled by working within care, that to further my career I have enrolled to start a nursing degree in September.”
