Mental Health Awareness Week

A study conducted by the Mental Health Foundation, working with Opinium, found that nearly three-quarters of the population (73%) had felt anxious at least sometimes in the previous two weeks, with one in five people (20%) anxious most or all of the time.

That’s why as part of Mental Health Awareness Week this year, the Mental Health Foundation have chosen anxiety as their theme.

Anxiety is a normal emotion that we all feel at some point in our lives, whether it’s before an exam, on the day of your driving test, the morning of starting a new job or other big life events.

If we don’t know how to cope with our feelings of anxiety, they can get out of control and stop us from doing the things we need or want to do.

There are a number of suggestions on the Mental Health Foundation website to support with coping with feelings of anxiety:

πŸ’šFocus on your breathing

πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈGet moving

πŸ“–Keep a diary

🌳Spend time in nature

πŸ—£οΈConnect with people and talk about how you feel

πŸ’€Try to get some quality sleep or rest

🍏Try to eat a healthy diet

Why not try these over the weekend, or share with a friend, or a relative, that may benefit too?
