A photo of Gareth at the marathon with his medal, Barnado's shirt and tracking number takes up the centre of the image. Underneath is a screenshot from the tracking app, saying "Gareth Potsig finished the race in 04:18:10". The top added text reads "Our Director, Gareth Potsig, has raised £9510 for Barnardo's."

Our Director, Gareth Potsig, has raised £9510 for Barnardo’s!

Our director, Gareth Potsig, has taken on the New York Marathon and beat his London Marathon time by three minutes. But that isn’t even the half of it!

Gareth has raised an astonishing £9510 for Barnardo’s, a charity that helps young people across the UK feel safer and more hopeful. They run over 800 specialised services for children and their families, and every pound that our contributors donated will be going straight to their charitable efforts.

We’re so proud of Gareth for all that he’s raised. Even after clearing this fundraising milestone, he’s got his eyes set on Berlin Marathon in 2025!

When we asked him how on earth he managed to tackle the challenge of the New York Marathon, he had this to say,,,

“Competing the New York marathon was definitely up there as one of the greatest things that I have ever done. It was extra tough, and I’m delighted to have beaten my London marathon time by 3 minutes, especially given the challenging bridges and uphill streets of New York City. Honestly, I think it’s fair to say that the amount that you all have raised for Barnardo’s is what kept me motivated to keep me moving as I did feel like giving up on about mile 20.

The charity’s vision is completely aligned to my own and I am forever grateful that I was given the opportunity to run for them in such prestigious marathon events. Thank you for supporting Barnardo’s and myself in turn.”
